Power BI dashboards and reporting

We turn operational data into interactive Power BI dashboards that decision-makers actually open, built on a shared data model that is governed, secured and ready to grow.

Who this is for

  • Finance, controlling and operations leaders whose reports are still assembled by hand in Excel.
  • Organisations running Power Apps on Dataverse that now want analytics on the data those apps collect.
  • Teams that already have many reports but no shared definitions, so every report shows a slightly different number.
  • Data teams whose volumes or complexity are outgrowing Power BI on its own and who need a scalable platform such as Databricks behind it.

Problems we typically solve

  • Reporting is manual, late and dependent on one person who knows the spreadsheet.
  • The same KPI is calculated differently in different reports, so meetings start with arguing about the number.
  • Every new report is built from scratch against the source system instead of a shared data model.
  • Sensitive data is visible to people who should not see it, or access is managed by copying files.
  • Dashboards are slow or refresh unreliably, so people stop trusting them.

What we deliver

  • Interactive dashboards and report suites: built around the decisions your managers actually take.
  • A shared data model: one set of definitions that many reports can draw on, instead of one model per report.
  • Analytics on Dataverse: an architecture that treats reporting as a design requirement, so the data from your apps is ready for analysis.
  • Databricks for scale: scalable data processing and machine learning behind Power BI when volumes or complexity call for it.
  • Access control: row-level security and managed workspace access, so each person sees what they are entitled to.
  • Controlled release and refresh: development and production separated, refresh monitored, ownership documented.

How we work

  1. Start from the decisions. Which questions should the dashboard answer, for whom, and how often?
  2. Map sources and design the model. We agree definitions of the key figures once and build the data model around them.
  3. Prototype with users. A working report early, refined with the people who will use it every day.
  4. Secure and publish. Roles, workspace permissions and a release path from development to production.
  5. Operate and enable. Refresh monitoring, documentation and training, so your team can extend the reports themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need Dataverse to use Power BI?

No, Power BI connects to many data sources. Dataverse is a particularly good fit when the data comes from your own Power Apps, because the same governed model then serves both the apps and the reports.

When does Databricks make sense?

When data volumes or processing needs go beyond what Power BI should do alone: large-scale data preparation, analytics and machine learning. Power BI then remains the interface your business users see.

What result did PwC get?

Enterprise Dataverse architecture and a Power BI implementation for scalable analytics: 40+ reports and 2 hours saved daily. See the PwC case study.

How long does a Power BI project take?

Basic solutions can be implemented in 2–4 weeks, more complex projects typically take 2–3 months. We deliver in iterations, with regular progress updates.

How do you protect sensitive data in reports?

By designing access into the data model (row-level security), managing workspace permissions deliberately and releasing through controlled environments. The underlying platform runs on Microsoft’s enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
