Client
ZSE is a utility company.
The project covered the automation of internal processes and the reporting around them.
Challenge
The brief was to automate internal processes and their reporting on Power Platform. Automation at a scale of thousands of tasks a month only pays off if it can be deployed, monitored and changed in a controlled way, so governance was a requirement from the start, not an afterthought.
What we built
A Power Automate implementation for internal process automation and reporting, delivered under strict ALM governance, so that every change to the automation goes through a defined path instead of being edited live.
Result
The automation saved 75% of the time previously needed for the processes it covers and handles more than 10,000 tasks a month, while running under strict ALM governance.
How we approach projects like this
The following is the general approach we apply to automation under ALM governance. It describes our method, not a list of ZSE-specific settings.
- Separate development, test and production environments so that changes are never made directly where the business works.
- Automated pipelines that move solutions between environments, with approval before production.
- DLP policies that define which connectors may be combined.
- Monitoring of what runs and what fails, for example with the CoE Starter Kit.
